DAVID FOWLER

Dave is a construction industry professional, having worked for 40 years in various roles. He has degrees in engineering and project management. For 20 years Dave worked in the consulting engineering field in the design and construction of commercial and industrial projects. During that time he worked for major US firms in the southeast. For the past 20 years he has been a construction supervisor, inspector and project manager in a Facilities department of a large college in Florida. When the Green movement started, he became involved with USGBC, becoming a Board member and directing the Colleges initiatives. In 2007 the college built the first LEED certified bldg in Broward. It is an 80,000 gsf 2 story “Silver” building. He now serves as Director of Sustainability. During 2008 the College won the “Exemplary Practices” award for the most sustainable college in Florida.

Dave is also a College professor, teaching Building Construction Technology. Dave is a licensed building Code Official, certified energy manager and Green Advantage trainer.
