JEANNE HUTCHINSON
Architecture is a second career for Jeanne Hutchinson that started in 1995, when she left the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to a B.S. in Chemistry and Art, she received a Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University and has been focused on green design since her first Sustainable Studio course. Jeanne Hutchinson is an Associate AIA and project manager with Architectural Concepts, working out of their Lancaster, PA office. Her building projects are infused with many sustainable design elements as she seeks to educate her clients about the benefits of green design.
Jeanne is a LEED AP and a Green Advantage certified professional. Utilizing experience in facilitation and corporate training, she is a Green Advantage-Commercial instructor where she helps to educate others on the benefits of green building practices. Jeanne is an active mentor of the Twin Valley High School’s Project Lead the Way program that works with Penn State to encourage students to pursue engineering and architecture. She is a founding member of the Berks Lancaster Green Building Association, a branch of the Central PA Green Building Association and is also the chairman of the Robeson Township Environmental Advisory Council, one of the first EAC groups established in Berks County.
Having worked on many multi-discipline project teams in current as well as previous careers, Jeanne believes strongly that an integrated design approach to building yields a better end result for the client and this should be the only way to design buildings. She is excited to be helping to expand the community of green building practitioners and to further the application of green building principles to change the way we build in the United States.
