PAUL CARTY
Paul Carty is an accomplished builder with 20 years of experience in the construction management industry. After graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s in Building Construction, Paul joined State Contracting and Engineering Corporation (SCEC) to begin his career in 1988. Paul is now a partner and Vice President at SCEC.
A licensed Florida General Contractor, Paul has overseen numerous projects across South Florida, including the region’s first LEED building. His building portfolio includes educational facilities, roadways, bridges, libraries, parks and recreational facilities, toll plazas, and office buildings. Paul became a LEED AP in 2004. His interest in green building was sparked when he became project executive of the first LEED building in South Florida. Paul led the construction team of the South Regional/BCC Library in Pembroke Pines, Florida. This pioneer project achieved Silver certification in 2007. Paul has since been involved in several other green projects, including a current LEED project at Pine Crest Preparatory School, a prestigious private school in Fort Lauderdale.
In 2007, Paul was elected to the board of directors of the USGBC South Florida Chapter. Paul’s primary goal to accomplish during his board tenure is to build awareness and knowledge of sustainable building practices in the South Florida contracting community. As a Green Advantage instructor, Paul looks forward to sharing lessons learned with his peers. Born and raised in Trinidad, Paul came to the States for college. He now resides in Davie, Florida, with his wife and three children. |
